Therapeutic Approach
Art therapy is not dependent on artistic skill. It is a structured, experiential modality that supports insight, nervous system regulation, and expression when experiences feel complex or difficult to articulate.
I work collaboratively and with intention, adapting materials, pacing, and interventions to meet developmental, medical, and emotional needs. Each session is thoughtfully structured and guided by clinical discernment.
My practice supports children, adults and families navigating:
Anxiety
Developmental and stress-related challenges
Chronic illness and health-related transitions
Adjustment to medical diagnosis or hospitalization
Grief, bereavement, and end-of-life experiences
My work is rooted in the healing potential of creative expression. I offer a warm, welcoming space where you can set aside the pressure to be an “artist” and simply allow yourself to create. The emphasis is not on talent or performance, but on curiosity, regulation, and meaningful self-exploration.
Each session is thoughtfully tailored to you. I integrate both verbal and experiential approaches, weaving together somatic and body-based practices, psychodynamic insight, dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and expressive arts. This integrative framework allows us to work with your thoughts, emotions, behaviors, and nervous system as connected parts of a whole—supporting change that feels grounded and sustainable.
Many people come to therapy with strong insight into their patterns, yet still feel stuck. Understanding alone does not always create movement. By incorporating mindfulness, body awareness, and creative processes, we can gently access experiences that may be difficult to put into words. Somatic techniques help regulate and steady the nervous system. Depth-oriented exploration brings context and clarity. DBT and CBT offer practical tools for navigating distress and building resilience. Creative expression often reveals themes, strengths, and emotions that are ready to be understood in new ways.
No prior art experience is needed. The process is collaborative and choice-based, guided by what feels supportive and manageable for you. Together, we build creative coping skills and strengthen your confidence in continuing a personalized wellness practice beyond our sessions.
I am committed to providing a steady, nonjudgmental environment where safety and attunement come first. Our work will move at a pace that respects both your nervous system and your goals. Whether you are navigating anxiety, depression, life transitions, or the impact of earlier experiences, we will focus on what feels most relevant and workable right now.
Healing is rarely linear. It unfolds through growing awareness, deepening regulation, and practicing new ways of relating to yourself and others. My intention is to support you in reconnecting with your strengths, moving toward meaningful goals, and cultivating a more grounded and integrated sense of self.
